![]() The models are all there in the kingdom walking around patrolling, but that entire part of the game doesn't exist. In a cutscene you meet the general of your kingdom and its clear hes supposed to be a main part of the game, where you would have probably had missions simlar to age of empires or other settlers games with a base to build, army to recruit and probably lead with those 3 heroes and smash the enemies trying to do the same thing. Now ALL of this might be ok if they had included the actual strategy part of the game. no matter how you want to slice it, you basically have 3 heroes to clear a map, unlocking as much loot as you can for your kingdom and rinse and repeat this process until you beat the game.sounds fun don't it? You've got three units with abilties and thats it, sure in some missions some ghosts might help you, or who knows maybe you get another hero or two but only 3 units per level at a time. To gather resources you must click "end turn" from your city and find some as loot on the battle maps.all methods incredibly boring. ![]() At first this seems interesting and cool and new, and then after 5 minutes you realize its really nothing special and just overly simplified. as the special resources, which is also how unit counters work. Is not much better with the staples like stone and gold with the elements like water, lighting, nature, metal, fire. im sorry "Place" buidling in their appropriate plots ( no freebuilding!) that give the most economic boost, hence my comparison to mobile MMORTS games where you can only build on build plots. While looking gorgeous its little more than unlocking "Zones" to construct. Which I Will get to later marked at "****&" It's no secret this game was intended to be something else supposedly the next settlers game, and that plan was scraped and this is what they salvaged and within the first 30 minutes of gameplay there is a cutscene where this becomes evident and WHY you should avoid this game. Thats kingdoms of anteria in a nutshell with much more polish and WAY better graphics. Imagine if you combined a phone/tablet/mobile MMORTS game ( im sure we are all familiar with those, building plots, tap for resources, craft items, no army vs army combat, etc.) and combined it with yet another mobile hero / dungeon crawler hack and slash game.
